Minicourse Overview:

This minicourse, designed for children, merges fundamental art skills with an understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations. By engaging students in hands-on projects using drawing, painting, collage, and digital design, the course connects artistic expression with global issues like climate change, biodiversity, and social justice. This integration not only enhances creativity and critical thinking but also emphasizes the role of art in addressing real-world challenges.

Why do we need this course? [Knowledge Gap]:

The course addresses a significant knowledge gap in how art can be utilized as a powerful tool for advocacy and social change. Many educational curriculums lack the integration of creative subjects with global citizenship education, leaving a gap in understanding the practical application of art in promoting awareness and action towards global sustainability goals. By educating young learners about the SDGs through artistic creation, the course aims to cultivate a generation that is both creatively skilled and socially conscious, capable of using their artistic talents to advocate for a sustainable future.
